About Oh, Team OT

About Samantha Karro

Hi, I’m Samantha, a paediatric occupational therapist and founder of Oh, Team OT. I was first drawn to occupational therapy for its holistic and naturally neuroaffirming lens. It’s a profession that supports people across the lifespan to participate meaningfully in everyday life by understanding the person, their environment, and their occupations (daily activities of life) as a dynamic whole.

Looking back, I realise my path had been circling these values long before I knew OT by name. Experiences like tutoring, running school holiday camps, and growing up around neurodiverse communities shaped the way I saw children, families, and the small everyday moments that matter most. Over time, I came to see that supporting children to find the tools and confidence to participate meaningfully in their daily lives, while also ensuring their environments are set up to recognise and meet their needs, is one of the most powerful ways to build foundational skills that carry into all areas of daily life. Working in partnership with families, schools, and broader support networks is key. It’s a truly ground up, holistic approach, because when everyone around a child understands, supports, and adapts together, it creates the kind of consistent, attuned support that helps a child, not just cope, but flourish.

For the past five years, I’ve worked with children and families to build skills in daily life, from play, motor development, and sensory processing, to routines, personal care, and emotional regulation. I support children aged 3 to 15 with a wide range of developmental profiles, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and diverse sensory or communication needs.

I started Oh, Team OT to reflect my belief that therapy works best as a team effort, whether with a child and their family, or in collaboration with educators and other professionals. I currently work across home, clinic, and school settings, offering services that are playful, practical, and tailored to each child’s needs.

Beyond direct therapy, I also work with schools through informal collaboration and classroom based support. Recent offerings include kindy screeners, parent workshops on emotional regulation, and fine motor support for early childhood settings.

Feel free to reach out at ohteamot@gmail.com to schedule a discovery call and chat about how I might support your child or school community.
